Delicious and Easy Frosting

If you aren't careful Royal Icing can taste like paste, not good. It seems to me that powdered sugar has a shelf life of 27 minutes. If you don't use that entire bag the day you bought it, you are out of luck! ICK!
I found an easier way to ice sugar cookies with Almond Bark. Ladies, It's not Almond and it's not Bark. Discuss amongst yourselves.

You can melt a few squares at a time so it doesn't dry up before you are finished frosting your cookies. Make sure to use gel food coloring or it will seize up on ya!

One little drop will give you a light pink color. Can you see it?

I used an offset spatula for the letter cookies, but you can use a zip-lock bag snipped on the end also. You can add a little solid vegetable shortening to thin it if you need to. (I used the word vegetable in there so it would sound healthy)
Package those babies up and you have cute and yummy cookies!

  2. What a smart idea! I'm going to try this at Christmas time...the only time I ever make sugar cookies.
