Eat Pray Love

So I went to see Eat Pray Love with my two lovelies Ellen and Lisa. We marvelled at the men coming in with their wives/girlfriends/, there was even one little boy. We decided that it was the mom's birthday and she asked that she get to pick the movie this time. (Don't you love to embellish strangers lives with all sorts of interesting stories? Meeee tooooo!)
I smuggled in a boatload of candy so we could eat something because this is Eat Pray Love after all.
We LOVED it. Two of us had read the book (get on it Ellen) and enjoyed the read so seeing the characters come to life was interesting for me. And by interesting I mean Holy Moly Javier Bardem... Yes please. I looked up a picture of her real husband and he doesn't exactly look like Mr. Bardem... oh well, can't have everything right. We all had a different take on how one ditches their life to do just what she wants to do for a full year. It all comes down to children and family we decided. Unless you take a year off BEFORE you have children it is doable. "Having a baby is like getting a tattoo on your face. You really need to be certain it's what you want before you commit." That is the defining moment for me personally. Once you start a family you commit yourself to life. A certain kind of life, but a great, scary, (hanging on by a thread occasionally,) adventure all in the confines of your own home. Jealous? No not really. I felt lonely for her at certain times during her quest. And not for lack of a man per se, but just lack of companionship. All of us decided on one thing. Women need girlfriends to share life experiences that can only be appreciated by other women friends. We all love our husbands but we get something so heartfelt from each other that we had a tearful goodbye in the parking lot. Try that with the mister.

My favorite scene is Felipe's son is complaining that his dad kisses him when he drops him off at school, all the way up through high school. The funny thing is that I just had that conversation with my own high school son. Julia Robert's character says, "that is soo sweet." and it is.

Go see it you will enjoy it. Go with your friends and you will enjoy it even more.

Eat-the 9 boxes of movie candy that I smuggled in. Oh and popcorn too.

Pray- that the lady in the restroom coughing up her lungs didn't give us all tuberculosis. (I made a quick dash to the lobby and held it thankyouverymuch)

Love-bring your besties. Share your love in the parking lot. It would have been better at Maggiano's over pasta, but we are waiting to do that when it comes out On Demand.
